Vote! CSU

Change the Culture

The political process impacts students as much as most anyone – yet the percentage of students who vote is far lower than the electoral average. This discourages politicians from fighting for student goals, allowing young people to assume that politicians are not listening, furthering a vicious cycle.

Champion Higher Education

CSU can strengthen the chorus of voters advocating for its priorities by increasing student turnout. This approach can cause long-term change and position stakeholders to reward the political courage of our leaders in Denver.

Meet Congress' Mandate

The federal government agrees that increasing student voting is a priority. An excerpt of the Higher Education Act of 1998 reads,

“The institution…will make a good faith effort to distribute a mail voter registration form, requested and received from the State, to each student enrolled in a degree or certificate program and physically in attendance at the institution, and to make such forms widely available to students at the institution.”

Lay a Foundation

Vote! CSU is a solution to the constant student turnover which makes student-driven registration such an important, but difficult challenge. By partnering with administration, Vote! CSU aims to institutionalize vote work within everyday university operations.

All Hands on Deck

Vote! CSU is not only working to institutionalize voter registration—it’s also dedicated to student-driven voter registration, educating students about issues important to young people, and when the time comes, getting out the vote.
