Hi, my name is Taylor Smoot and I am your Colorado State Student Body President! I am a senior studying Political Science with a History minor from Arvada, Colorado. It is an honor to be representing and serving the students of CSU. I encourage all students to come into the ASCSU office and voice you concerns, questions and ideas. My door is always open and I promote students to come talk with me.
I am the Chief Executive of the Associated Students of Colorado State University. One of my primary roles is to serve as the student representative to the Colorado State University System Board of Governors.  I represent student issues, needs, and concerns to the CSU administration, the Board of Governors, and the state and federal government. As president I also oversee ASCSU and its budget. ASCSU strives to enhance your collegiate experience, so please help us by participating and voicing your important ideas. 
Goals for this year:
  • Be an accurate and fair representative of the diverse student body at Colorado State University
  • Act in the best interest of the Colorado State student body
  •  Make sure that ASCSU is a welcoming and open place for all students
  •  Ensure that ASCSU is transparent and visible organization
  •  Help ASCSU plan, Facilitate and sponsor successful events and programs
  •  Be a strong voice in university matters such as budgeting
  •  Enhance the value of a CSU degree
  •  Support Student organizations in any way possible
  • Advocate for Higher Education at the State Capitol Cheaper Textbooks alongside the Associated Students of Colorado
  • Create an Tuition Accountability Forum that informs students of tuition expenditures and rising costs
  • Increase the number of Ram Ride cars to cut down on YOUR wait time
  • Increase the number of bike racks on campus
  • Increase the capacity and frequency of buses servicing the CSU campus
  • Extend the Library's operational hours
  • Promote the recruitment of prospective students to create a diverse campus through the recruitment of international, out-of-state, transfer, and in-state students
  • Support and assist with programs and projects of the On-Campus Advocacy Offices and the Diversity Advocacy Council
  • Work alongside with the University's Stretch Goals to increase the amount of diverse students and to address student's needs
  • Establish a FREE annual large scale, on-campus Homecoming Concert open to the Colorado State University community and the Fort Collins community
  • Creating a bilateral Student Advisory Council to address the increasing concerns between students and facility
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainability on campus
