Leadership Development

First Year Students,

What is Leadership Development?
How do you become the head of a multi-million dollar corporation? How do you establish yourself as an inspirational speaker? How can you serve as a role model? What makes you a best friend? There is a long standing myth that leaders are born with an ability to lead. But the truth is, leadership is something that must be learned. No one starts at the top. It’s a process, it’s a perspective – it’s a way of life. The question is: How will you maximize your potential to lead? What will YOU do?

What WE do:   Our focus in this department is the Ram Leadership Team – a group of first year students who have the desire to become the leaders of tomorrow. RLT is a year-long commitment to personal development in which fellow student leaders facilitate an experiential learning program that will lay the foundation for your future involvement in campus life and the Fort Collins community. We will address such topics as the Ethics of Leadership, morality, college life, and explore various ways to lead in order to help you develop your own personal style. We hold weekly meetings, take retreats in the mountains, explore the student organizations of CSU, participate in community building projects, and discover new ways to lead and learn. Together, we’ll turn an intimidating campus of 26,000 into a family of 25.

Our Mission

Our mission is your success. It's as simple as that. Welcome to CSU!
