We hope you have enjoyed safe travels to Fort Collins and are settling into
campus life comfortably.
If this summer is any indication of what the upcoming year will be like, we’re
excited to tell you there will be many great programs and opportunities created
and developed for you by over 125 students and more than 10 departments within
the Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU). We’ve been working
full-time these last few months laying the foundation for a successful year for
students. We invite you to check the status of our various initiatives and
projects on our website at http://www.ascsu.colostate.edu. To receive regular
announcements and invitations, find us on Facebook.
Through the hard work and dedication of our staff, we have already accomplished
many goals, including additional funding for student organization programs, an
increase in RamRide vehicles and additional operational efficiencies, an
expanded Party Registration program to be year round, and a newly improved
TestFile service operated by ASCSU (for free). As your student representatives,
we have been hard at work to ensure your student fees are being spent
efficiently. We invite you to be part of this process by applying to the Student
Fee Review Board – see our website for applications. With a strong value for
collaboration, we believe this year will be historic.
We are here to serve you and make your experience on campus something you will
never forget. If there is something we can do differently to make your
experience better, let us know--my door is always open, and my Blackberry is
always on. Stop by our office (Lory Student Center Room 109), e-mail me
(ASCSU_Office@mailColoState.EDU), or call (970-491-5931). Both Rachel, ASCSU
Vice-President, and I will be at the LSC Info Desk every Wednesday, readily
available to talk with you and hear your concerns. I would love to sit down with
you and hear your story about Colorado State University, listen to your
suggestions, and to share more information about what we are doing in ASCSU.
As we move throughout the year, remember why you are here – CSU’s strong
academic offerings. Attend classes and study hard. Take care of yourself and one
another, and use the multitude of resources available to you on campus. ASCSU,
the faculty and staff, are here to help you succeed.
I truly look forward to the successes and happenings of the 2011-2012 year. We
have a great group of students, a world class faculty, and a dedicated staff. We
are extremely lucky to be at Colorado State University.
Go Rams!
-Eric Berlinberg, President
Associated Students of Colorado State University Class of 2012
