Professors save students money when they turn their textbook orders in on time. This is because used books are typically 25 to 50 percent cheaper than new books. Since most used books must be ordered from national companies, turning orders in early helps ensure that students have a more affordable, used book option.

In recent semesters, 45 to 50 percent of CSU faculty turned orders in on time. We are working to improve this number by reminding each instructor of the order deadline five times. A series of emails from the Provost, ASCSU president, and department secretaries, as well as door hangers and phone calls will continue to drive the on-time rate higher.
